Videoconferencing
is an electronic meeting or class in which participants
at different locations use telephone lines to communicate
with each other in real time or synchronously. This
form of distance learning is becoming a common occurrence
in business and education. Videoconferencing equipment
is needed at each site in order to be successful.

classroom by bringing together students and faculty
from all over the world. Videoconferencing can facilitate
distributed cooperative learning, where groups at
distant sites take on a learning task and teach
remote peers.
